Denise Graham Zahn

June 7, 1950 ~ March 25, 2018 (age 67)

Denise Graham Zahn passed away early Sunday morning on March 25, 2018 surrounded by loved ones.  She was born in Chicago, IL on June 7, 1950. She graduated from Attica High School in Ohio in 1968.

She is survived by her loving husband Gary E. Zahn. She is also survived by her son, Tad (Melissa) Graham; daughter, Dana (Bill) Robinson; sisters. Peggy Karhoff and Amy (Roy) Brueggemann; brother, William E. McMellen II; grandchildren, Rowan (Barnabas) Bela; Merrick Graham; Riley and Bailey Robinson, and many more loving relatives and friends. Her four-legged kids Jack, Snowflake, Ittabitty and Smokey. She was preceded in death by her parents, Amy and William McMellen.

Denise had many interests including spending time in nature with trees, wildlife, and birds. She loved to bike and run on the trail. She enjoyed dancing and listening to loud music. She loved Sunday family gatherings with her kids and grandkids. She also enjoyed spending time at the beach.

Denise had many accomplishments in her life. She was a self-published author, play writer, and actress. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degree while working and being a single parent. She had a career as editor in chief of a newspaper and wrote articles for Boomer’s Magazine, and sold ads for many newspapers. She was a village trustee, church elder, creative spirit, entrepreneur, and business owner. She raised money for Leukemia and Lymphoma Society for Team in Training and spent time fundraising for many charitable organizations. She volunteered at Suncoast Animal League and rescued many pets.

In Lieu of flowers, you can make a donation to the family (Dana Robinson) to have a memorial bike rack put in her name on the Pinellas Trail in Tarpon Springs or donate to Suncoast Animal League.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the clubhouse at The Woods of Anderson Park, 39650 US 19 N, Tarpon Springs, FL 34689 on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 1:00 PM.
