Jerry Earl Gaston
November 26, 1951 - January 20, 2016
Jerry Earl Gaston was born in Ottumwa, IA. He served as a military policeman in the Army during the Vietnam War, serving his time in Germany. Jerry worked as a licensed contractor in the construction business in Florida for many years prior to his death. His attitude on the job site was quite unique. Jerry was very particular in the way he wanted things done. If it was not done the way he normally did it, one "no" wasn't enough. His famous "NO, NO, NO" is what you would hear. That was Jerry's personality, but when the work day was over he could always laugh about it. Prior to that Jerry also worked on the railroad in Chicago for over a decade. His passions were motorcycles and weightlifting. He is survived by a sister Carolyn and a brother Terry. He had another brother Ronald that predeceased him that Jerry always spoke highly about. In addition, he is survived by a non-related family that loved him very much and enjoyed his company for the past 15 years. He was known by many, only close with a few, and that's how he lived his life. He passed away peacefully at the age of 64, at the Bay Pines VA medical center on January 20, 2016, the Sunset Point Funeral Home handled his cremation. His ashes will be scattered in a private ceremony in accordance with his wishes. He was loved, and will always be missed and thought of every day...
