John Daniel Baker
April 23, 1929 - August 19, 2015
BAKER, Captain John Daniel U.S.A.F. (Ret.) loving, kind, and gentle man passed away Aug. 18, 2015, in Clearwater. He was born in McKeesport, PA to John and Marie Baker. He was orphaned early on, along with his twin sisters. John left home as a young man and joined the Navy. He graduated from the United States Naval Academy and Purdue University. He served in the Korean and Vietnam wars and retired from the United States Air Force. John married Audrey in Clearwater, where he shared 27 years with his beloved. He was involved for many years in St. Cecilia's Church choir, along with Audrey. They both shared a love of travel and enjoyed every moment together. John is survived by his spouse, Audrey; his children, Andrew Baker, John Baker, Olly Jerrold. He is preceded in death by Patrick Baker. He is survived by his dear sister, Marie Allen; his niece, Karen Allen; and nephew, Daniel Allen. He was stepfather to Kim, Kelley, Cindy, John, Krista, Mary, and Colleen. He was step-grandfather to eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A funeral service was held at Sylvan Abbey Cemetery, Aug. 25.
