John J Lacey, 77, passed away February 6, 2010 in Clearwater, FL. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph L., his mother, Margaret (McQueeney), and his sister Patricia Friday.Jack was born August 11, 1932 in Ebensburg, PA.. He graduated from Ebensburg Cambria High School and furthered his education at Saint Francis University, Loretto, PA. Jack was a Korean War veteran. He worked as a salesman in the mining industry.Jack was a special person who lived a full life. He was best known as an avid golfer and was a member of Summit Country Club. Jack was also a sports enthusiast, great dancer, devoted husband, father and loyal friend. Jack was truly a fun-loving man who brought a smile to those who knew him best. He was affectionately known as "Poppy" to his grandchildren.Jack is survived by his loving wife Carole (Gilkey); daughter, Jennifer, and grandchildren Alyson, Samuel, and Aaron Caplea. He also leaves behind his sisters Evelyn Felix, Rosemary Dondanville, and Dorothy Mehler as well as extended family and friends including his mother-in-law, Loretta Gilkey.The family wishes to offer a special thanks to Suncoast Hospice for their care and support.
