Jorge Braz DaSilva

Jorge Braz DaSilva, 81, of Clearwater, FL and Tewksbury, MA, passed away in Florida due to complications stemming from diabetes.Jorge was a loving husband to his devoted wife of 52 years, Nilda V. DaSilva. He is survived by his daughter, Grace C. DaSilva; sons, Gilbert C. DaSilva (Amy) and Jorge F.C. DaSilva and eight grandchildren. Jorge is also survived by his sister, Leila DaSilva and brother, Joao DaSilva.Jorge was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on February 3, 1935. He and Nilda were immigrants and arrived from Brazil in 1968.Jorge was a music professor in Brazil. He became a Machinist in Massachusetts working full time while also holding part time jobs. InMassachusetts, Jorge owned a restaurant for 7 years. For 10 years, Jorge worked full time for the Tewksbury, MA school system. He worked 20 plus years, part time for Demoulas/Market Basket in Tewksbury and Wilmington, MA.Jorge loved music, played the piano and accordion and loved to dance. He always told jokes and smiled and laughed. Eating was a favorite pastime of his, though he maintained staying healthy while struggling with diabetes. Jorge loved watching basketball and his Boston Celtics.Jorge's passion was his family, especially his grandchildren who will miss him very much. He was a tough and very hard worker who always held multiple jobs. Jorge was very generous, helpful and giving to all.Jorge's remains will be cremated and his ashes will be taken to Brazil and put to rest in his family's tomb.A memorial service is planned.
