My dear angel mother Julia Ida Keresztes, whom everyone called Granny passed away January 22nd, 2015 at the young age of 84. Her greatest joy in life was her family. She has three wonderful children, two sons: Rudolf Keresztes & Stephen-Frank Keresztes, & one daughter: Susan Johnson. Granny has two precious & beautiful Granddaughters who are her pride & joy, Krystle Laszlo & Angela Keresztes.Granny my dear mother Julia Keresztes was born in Kisvarda, Hungary. She loved to cook & her family enjoyed her Hungarian dishes like stuffed cabbage & delicious pastries. We all miss her so much & we know she is dancing up in Heaven with the angels, her parents, & Krystle's Daddy. Our Granny had the movie star looks comparable to the greats of Elizabeth Taylor & Judy Garland but with even more glamour, class, & elegance that out did the best. Not only was she gorgeous on the outside but also on the inside with the biggest heart of gold. We learned from her what it was to be compassionate, kind, loving, strong (strongest woman I've ever met, even till her last breath), selfless to others, how to live each day to the fullest, to always smile, to not take anything for granted, & most of all what real true love is; to be loved by her.This world was very lucky to have such a loving Mother & Granny with a smile that could brighten up the darkest of nights. Her eyes were always so full of joy, love, wonderment, & excitement as to what the new day will bring. She had so much passion for life, her family, animals, & nature. She even loved the smallest of God's creatures such as the squirrels, birds, lady & lightning bugs, & the 1 hamster named Munster which was pure white. Which Mom & all her kids loved. They loved her just as much, as the squirrels would eat right out of her hand knowing how gentle & caring she is. The birds would always chirp & flock to her. And when she took her Granddaughters out to catch lightning bugs, she made sure to always tell us that they are God's creatures & to let them gently go. She saw beauty everywhere even when others did not.Some of the things she enjoyed doing was reading, watching the Sci-Fi channel, feeding the squirrels & birds, watching scary movies with Krystle & all movies with both grandchildren, going out to eat & getting dressed up, playing board games & puzzles with her family, & going to the parks. Some of her favorite music artists were Tom Jones, Elvis Presley, & Julio Iglesias. (You should have seen her DANCE!) When Halloween came around each year, Granny was so full of excitement. She couldn't wait to decorate the house, to get her costume & makeup ready, to make sure to buy loads of candy, & to be all dressed up in her costume at the door. All of this was done for her grandchildren & for all the kids in the area. She loved seeing each child wearing the costume they chose, their scary masks, or even the little angels. She saw how much joy, happiness, & fun they were having especially her grandchildren. And that's all she wanted was to give to other children the smiles they brought to her. Christmas was her favorite time of the year. She loved driving around in the neighborhood seeing all the Christmas lights. To her it was the most magical time of year. A time filled full of love, hope, faith, & full of possibilities & wishes.She was the BEST Granny a Granddaughter could have, ask for, & dream of! She spoiled her grandchildren with so much love, more than most Grandmas do. She taught us so much from washing our dirty little faces & hands to having good etiquette, to the bigger lessons of treating others with love & respect.She was always there for us from the little things to the bigger life events. Something as little as us waking her up very early & asking her to make us cereal & then watch cartoons together, sewing a pilgrim outfit from scratch to make for her Granddaughter, Krystle's 1st grade Thanksgiving Dinner, making snow angels with her Grandkids; Angela & Krystle in the snow, was there at our dance recitals, school plays, swimming classes & more. To the bigger events of comforting her grandchild when she loses her Daddy & letting her know that she is loved, taken care of, & safe or to the most recent event of her granddaughter having major surgery. No matter what it is, she is always there for her family in every way.Granny had a life force of a personality that was unlike any other. She can be described by many adjectives; funny, silly, smart-aleck, spitfire, feisty, tough cookie, elegant, kind, loving, playful, flirty, a charmer, sweet, warrior, grateful, full of joy & happiness, trustworthy, & much more.Dear Granny & my dearest Mother we love you so much & we miss you so much. My beautiful Granny you are my everything, my best friend, my partner in crime, my heart & soul, soulmate, & much more. I miss you so much every second of everyday. I know though in my heart that you are the most BEAUTIFUL Angel in Heaven & they are very lucky to have you. Please walk by my side everyday & let me know you're always there. I love you with all my heart & soul my Granny, my love. Our hearts will always be connected. Thank you for being my Granny. On Wednesday January 28th there will be a church service at 3pm at Espiritu Santo Catholic Church, located at 2405 Philippe Parkway in Safety Harbor.
