Laurie Dianne Cay, AKA LD, Sis, Sissy, Miss Dee and Happy Wanderer was called Home to Glory on June 17, 2016 after an extended illness. She was born in Quincy, MA on December 2, 1945 and resided in North Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia and Florida. She was predeceased by her parents, Nell Kale Cay Allen and Donald Frederick Cay, step-parents, Jim Allen and Virginia Cay, brother, Donald (Donnie) Frederick Cay II and her companion, Henry Cullen. She is survived by many cousins.After high school and college, she became a cosmetologist and worked in that field for 10 years. She then worked in the hospitality/restaurant business for 35 years. She retired in 1988 from the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office Records and Identification Department to care for her mother.Sissy was a member of Holiday Community Fellowship Church in Holiday, Fl. She dearly loved her church and her church family. For 25 years she was a member of, "The Florida 50's Original Rocker's Club." The club preformed many shows for service clubs, nursing homes, shopping centers, parades and birthday parties. Sissy loved dancing to the oldies. She will be missed by family members and many friends. A Going Home Ceremony will be held at Holiday Community Fellowship Church on July 9, 2016 at 11:00 am, with a luncheon to follow. She will be interned at Concord United Methodist Church in North Carolina. There will also be a ceremony at Ball's Creek Camp Meeting "Arbor" on August 7, 2016, in the afternoon. In lieu of flowers, a gift to The Crossnore School for Children in Crossnore, North Carolina is much appreciated. (www.crossnoreschool.org.)
