Lenita Kay Carranza

July 11, 1972 - April 13, 2018

Lenita Kay Carranza, 45, died April 13th 2018, surrounded by her family and loved ones in St. Petersburg, Florida after a courageous battle with MS.  Lenita was born on July 11th 1972 in St. Petersburg FL to Blanche and James Grimes.  She graduated from Lakewood High School in 1990.  She married Juan R. Carranza October 15th 1993.  They raised 3 amazing sons.  She was predeceased by her father James.  She is survived by her husband, Juan and their three son, Juan Jr., Raul and Carlos; her mother Blanche; her siblings Cindy, Shelia, Gina, Jim and Joe; her niece Jessica and her loving dog Sara.  She was an avid reader of mysteries and loved to cook.  Lenita did not let her illness change her adventurous outlook of life.  Her outgoing personality and desire to help others was inspirational to everyone who knew her.  She rejected empathy for her own situation and instead played a supporting role to others.  She was very creative and so full of life and her many memorable traits live on today through her family.  She was so loved and well cared for by the many caregivers in her life.  She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Visitation will be held Wednesday April 18th from Noon to 2pm at Sunset Point Funeral Home.  Burial to follow in Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
