Mona Durrant

March 27, 1925 - September 20, 2014

Mona Lee Murlin Durrant, 89, of Clearwater, went to her heavenly home September 20, 2014. Born March 27, 1925, she was the daughter of Judge Lee N. and Beatrice Swoveland Murlin of Toledo, Ohio. Mona attended the University of Toledo on an academic scholarship, was a pharmacist and president of the University of Toledo branch of the American Pharmaceutical Association. She was the Director of Pharmacy and Central Supply at Toledo Hospital. She and her husband Calvin Durrant, who preceded her in death, owned Orchard Drugs Pharmacy in Toledo. They traveled to Europe many times before retiring to Florida. Mona was loving wife, mother and grandmother, a beautiful singer, devoted church member, talented painter, avid gardener and a rescuer of animals in need. She will be remembered for her quick wit and wonderful sense of humor. She is survived by her daughter Terri Dixon Reeves and her husband Richard, of Clearwater, FL.; her son Jere Dixon of Tucson, AZ.; and her granddaughters Jenna and Lauren Reeves of Clearwater, FL.
