Nancy G. Sienkiewicz

Nancy Sienkiewicz 77 of Clearwater FL died peacefully, August 14, 2017 at C.W. Young Veterans Medical Center under Hospice care after a 3-year battle with lung cancer. Born in Northampton MA in 1940, to the late William and Helen Smith. After graduating from Northampton High School in 1957, she enlisted in the U.S. Army, and was a Vietnam Veteran serving from 1958 to 1961. She loved wild life especially sea birds, traveling and bowling at Dunedin Lanes, where she won numerous trophies. She and husband Charles made trips to Alaska, visited every state, circling the U.S, trips to Jamaica, Newfoundland and Mexico. She was a member of the Dunedin FL American Legion Post 271, a life member of the disabled American Veterans and member of Pinellas Seabird Sanctuary. She is survived by her son Jerome Ostrowski and his wife Patricia of Westhampton MA; her husband Charles of Clearwater FL; step daughters Theresa Smith of Hadley MA, Nancy Blizniak of Northampton MA, and Charlene Sienkiewicz of Phoenix AZ; step grandchildren Emmy, Joe and Becky; her sister Karen, nieces and nephews and longtime friends; Sandra Ostrowski and Becky Dunlap. In keeping with her wishes, there will be a service at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Dunedin FL, August 28 at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers please honor her memory with a donation to hospice at C.W. Young Veteran Medical Center in St. Petersburg FL. Burial will be at C.W. Young Veteran National Cemetery at a later date.
