April 22, 1937 - April 29, 2021
Patricia Marie D'Andrea of Clearwater, Florida died at her home in the loving arms of her three children April 29, 2021. She was 84 years old and was married to her late husband Frank C. D'Andrea for 59 years. Patricia, born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was the daughter of the late Richard E. Barrows, stepfather Charles R. Cook, and mother Martha J. Cook. She is survived by her children, son Franco C. D'Andrea and fiancé Kay Simmons of Clearwater FL, daughter Patricia Massarelli and husband Peter T. Massarelli of Clearwater, FL, daughter Maria M. D'Andrea and husband Carey Wright of Manhattan, KS, brother Robert A. Cook and wife Elena I. Cook of Denton, MD, brother Charles R. Cook Jr. of Shelbyville, IN, granddaughter Danielle D'Andrea Kurtze and husband James Kurtze and great grandson Brendan Kurtze of Peyton, CO and granddaughter Cayla Massarelli and partner Frankie Caldarazzo of Tampa, FL. Patricia enjoyed a successful career as a secretary in the home improvement industry and continued to expand her knowledge as she entered finance and mortgage lending with Citicorp. Her expertise in the field of finance advanced her to Vice President of Operations at Statewide Windows Inc. in Jacksonville, Florida. Patricia (Pat) loved life and her family. In addition, Pat loved the ocean and the beach. After she moved from Pennsylvania, her life in Florida with her family brought her great joy. She was a very compassionate person. She would take care of any animal in need - a stray bunny, a dog or cat (sometimes multiples of each) and she had a passion for her aquariums. She loved all types of music, but mostly Rock and Roll and The Rolling Stones was her favorite group. She never missed a concert when they came to town! Pat had an amazing sense of humor. She was lighthearted and her laugh, along with her million-dollar smile, was infectious! Pat had multiple interests, she loved to garden and care for the many plants that surrounded her home. She was also extremely creative. Her talents included designing custom beaded jewelry, stained glass windows, painting and conjuring up new ways to transform the mundane into something original! If she wasn't in the midst of creating a new masterpiece or tending to her garden, she would play games to pass her time. She enjoyed the challenge of crossword puzzles, solitaire, word search games and her favorite boardgame was the Amazing Labyrinth. What most people didn't know about her was her insatiable desire for scary movies! Her nick name for scary movies was WooooWoooos! The creepier the better and during a Halloween marathon on TV she would be front and center watching them all! She was also a fantastic cook; she made the best homemade spaghetti sauce you have ever tasted and manicotti was her specialty! She also knew how to bake the most mouthwatering chocolate birthday cake with chocolate icing that can't be duplicated... and believe me I've tried! Pat had so much love to give and yet she never expected anything in return. Her love of life and her tender caring heart was an inspiration to anyone she met. We have all been so blessed to share many remarkable years and loving moments throughout her journey here on earth. Her light and love are a treasure that we will all cherish forever. She will be honored and blessed at her funeral on May 17, at 1:30 pm. at St. Cecelia's Church, 820 Jasmine Way, Clearwater, FL 33756. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you consider a donation in her name to The American Heart Association, The American Diabetes Association or The Humane Society of Pinellas.
