Patrick Garner McNulty

March 3, 1945 - August 11, 2015

McNULTY, Patrick Garner70, of Clearwater, Florida, passed away peacefully August 11, 2015. He was born in Washington, DC, on March 3, 1945, grew up in Silver Spring, MD, and McLean, VA, graduating from McLean High School in 1963. He received two Bachelor of Science degrees from Weber State University in Ogden, Utah, (History and Geography). He was a member of Phi Alpha Theta, the National History Honor Society, Alpha-Gamma-Omicron Chapter, as well as a member of Gamma Theta Upsilon, the International Geographical Honor Society, Delta Phi Chapter.He served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force from 1966 to 1970. He was stationed at an Air Force Base in Thailand, when he learned that his younger brother Charles had been killed in Vietnam. He was able to escort his brother's body home for burial in Arlington Cemetery.Pat was an avid and talented amateur photographer and writer. Additional interests and hobbies included his love of plants and landscaping, playing tennis, hiking in the mountains, and watching his favorite baseball teams.He is survived by his sister, Kathleen McNulty Johnston (Dennis) of Clearwater, Florida; five nieces, Deanna Loy Schuler of Bellevue, Washington, Tracey Compton of Treasure Island, Florida, Debra Ann Ollom of Clearwater, Florida, Lisa Loy Donaldson of Tampa, Florida, and Kathleen Westbrook of Burbank, California; five grandnephews, Jack Thomas Compton, James Reid Donaldson, Andrew Miller Donaldson, Miles McNulty Donaldson of Tampa, Florida, Benjamin Charles Schuler of Bellevue, Washington; and two grandnieces, Kathleen Ellen Westbrook, and Julie Marie Westbrook of Burbank, California. He is also survived by numerous cousins in both the Washington, DC, metropolitan area and Ogden, Utah, area. Pat was preceded in death by his mother, Marian Garner Allen (Robert); his father, Patrick Leo McNulty; and his brother, Charles Richard McNulty.His wonderful sense of humor and generous, giving nature will surely be missed. A Celebration of Life will be held following anticipated burial at Arlington Cemetery, date yet to be determined. Please check back for service time/date.
