Sharon L Gombos Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Sharon was a wonderful wife to Andrew, an amazing, loving mother to Jana (h. Rob), Sara, Leah (h. Joe), Drew and Kala. She was the best grandma to Ashley, Ty, Brandon, Gianna, Anna, Aubrey, Allene and Alyssa. Sharon was born in Quantico, VA, raised in Pennsylvania and lived in New Jersey most of her life, where she raised her family. In 2016, Sharon moved to Florida with her husband. Sharon loved her mother, Janet, with all her heart, she meant the world to her and was with her to the very end. She was a wonderful older sister, to Georgie and Shawn. She loved her aunt and uncles and many cousins - they brought her such joy and many good times! So many wonderful holidays spent together. As a grandmother, Sharon extended her love endlessly. She was always there to help take care and help raise her grandchildren. She could not spoil them enough and her love for them will forever be remembered and live through them. She worked at Our Lady of Fatima church for many years. Sharon spent many years working as a nanny and has helped raise over 15 children. Sharon was the most selfless, loving and kind person. She was a devout Catholic and had a strong faith that she celebrated in good times and helped her get through tough times. Sharon loved reading - she still had her books from 40 years ago. She loved to cook and bake for her family. She made the best cakes with her special buttercream icing! Her Christmas cookies were favorites of many people - sugar cookies, peanut butter, macadamia white chocolate chip and her homemade biscotti! She loved watching cooking shows, game shows, American Idol and Grey's Anatomy. She loved cheering on the NY Mets and Kansas City Chiefs - it was great that she was able to watch them win the Super Bowl in 2020! She loved vacationing down the Jersey shore in Wildwood - spending time on the beach with her family. Her favorite was spending time on the boardwalk playing the games sometimes all night long, eating boardwalk food and watching her kids on the rides. Over the last several years, Sharon lost her youngest daughter (Dec '17), she was diagnosed with ALS (Nov '19), and she lost the love of her life, her husband, this past June. Throughout all of those difficult times - Sharon never lost faith, she never felt sorry for herself, and she always kept her family front and center. She was a fighter. She lived her best every day no matter how hard it was for her. She did this for her family that she loved so much. Sharon will be greatly missed and will ALWAYS be loved. Services will be held Tuesday, April 13th 10 AM - 12 PM at Sunset Point Funeral Home and Cremation, Clearwater, FL. Interment will be at Curlew Hills Memorial Garden at a later date.
