Shirley May Roberts-Streebel
October 27, 1923 - July 16, 2014
Shirley May Roberts-Streebel, daughter of George and Emilie Roberts, born in Buchanan Michigan, left this world July 16, 2014 at the age of 90. A graduate of the Art Institute of Chicago, she devoted much of her life to artisitic endeavors including a career in commercial art. She preferred creating portraits in oil, she worked with many mediums, leaving a rich legacy of oils, ink drawings an other works. Prior to the advent of color photography she specialized in tinting photographs for high school senior portraits. Her family is blessed with portraits of her children, grandchildren and many other works. She never sought fame. So many may look at her works and wonder about the unknown artist that created a family treasure. In later years she enjoyed volunteering at the Dunedin Library Book Store. She will be remembered by her children, Richard Streebel, Robert Streebel, Diane Turscak, James Streebel, John Streebel; her grandchildren Jason Streebel, Shawn Goble, Shannon Wilson, Kristin Birdzell, Korin Bevelaque, granddaughter-in-law, Jessica Goble, her Great-Grandchildren, Dylan Wilson, Heather Krizov, Lexi Webster, Thayer Belvelaque, Gabriella Goble, Lincoln Birdzell, and Devreux Birdzell and Great-Great-Grandchild Emiliee Krizov.
