Wilmajean Carson was born on March 14, 1932 in Little Falls, New Jersey, the second of 5 children of Wilma Reese and Robert W. Carson. She was raised in and attended school in Little Falls, where she was an accomplished musician, serving as a church organist and All-State bassoonist. She was a member of several orchestras in New Jersey. She graduated from Montclair State College in 1953 as a music major and taught music in several schools in southern New Jersey and central Florida.
Wilmajean married William T. Nipper in Little Falls on November 24, 1955. Soon after they married, the Nippers moved to Florida and lived in Florida and Georgia for the remainder of their lives. Wilmajean and Bill had two children, Sherell Nipper White and William Rhamy Nipper.
In addition to raising two children, Wilmajean was active in Democratic politics at the local, state and national level and was a member of the Clayton County Library Board. She also was the Chief Registrar for Clayton County for a number of years in the 1980's.She enjoyed ushering at Spivey Hall and volunteering at local County Library Systems in Atlanta. She was an inveterate world traveler, visiting many countries, all seven continents, including travels above the Arctic Circle and below the Antarctic Circle.
She was also an avid photographer and painter, with thousands of pictures from her world travels.
Wilmajean is survived by her daughter, Sherell, grandson Robert Carson White, granddaughter Christina Grace White, and son Rhamy, wife Wanda, granddaughters Abigail Brooke Nipper and Kathryn Nicole Woodruff, her step-sons William Terrell Nipper III and grandson Kyle Evans and Ted Nipper and grandson Scott Nipper and granddaughter Cindy Nipper Tan and her brothers John Carson, Wes and wife Carol Carson and sister Cora Lee Guarrera and husband Steve Kuhn.
